THANK YOU – ANNUAL PARISH GOLF TOURNAMENT

On behalf of the Holy Cross Golf Committee and Father Chris, we would like to sincerely thank all the Sponsors, Volunteers and Golfers for their enthusiastic support of the Annual Parish Golf Tournament at Riverway Golf Course on May 12. This year the event was sold out once again and was a huge success from both the community building and fundraising perspectives. (156 Golfers participated and close to 200 people attended the Dinner).  A special thank you also goes out to the Holy Cross Parish Golf Committee, the CWL, Knights of Columbus and the School Staff for their hard work and support of this Annual Tournament. Our Annual Banner, recognizing and appreciating all our Sponsors, will be posted outside the Church Doors in the next week.  Looking forward to seeing you all next year on May 10, 2024.

With much appreciation,

Dino Alberti and Vasco Meira,

Co-Chairs

OVERNIGHT EUCHARISTIC ADORATION

Come and participate in our 12-hour Eucharistic Adoration starting this evening at 9:00 pm, ending at 9:00 am on Saturday.  We will sing a few worship hymns following the Divine Mercy Mass and will start the Adoration at 9:00 pm.
There are people assigned for every hour of the night for safety reasons, so no one will be alone.  We encourage everyone to participate in whatever way you can, whether that’s a holy hour, or a holy 15 minutes, come and spend some time with Jesus.  If you have any questions, please contact Dorothy Demare at 604-603-8418.

HOLY LAND RELIGIOUS ARTICLES

This weekend, May 20/21, 2023, religious olive wood carvings from the Holy Land are being displayed in the foyer of our Church. These articles are hand crafted by the Christians of the Holy land who are seeking your support today to assist them in staying rooted in the land of Christ. 70 years ago, the Christian population was 20 % of the whole population, now they are only 1.0%.

It is also a way of preserving a local cultural heritage which is in danger of being lost as more Christians feel pressured to leave their homeland for economic and political reasons. These religious articles can be used as gifts for first communions, Christmas and other occasions.  In addition, some of these articles can be used as a means of praying and providing comfort, strength, and even hope for people who are suffering.

Please note that that ONLY CASH, E-TRANSFER, OR CHEQUES ARE accepted as payment at this time.

Thanks again for your support, and God Bless.  Holy Land Group
