Coffee Sunday
On Sunday, May 14, please join our monthly ‘Coffee Sunday’ after all morning Masses (8am, 10am, 12pm) right outside the door.   We have various baked goods donated by Cobs on Kensington and Valley Bakery as well as some homemade items by parishioners.

THE LORD IS CALLING YOU:

COME AND EXPERIENCE THE NEW EVANGELIZATION!

The catechists of the Neocatechumenal Way invite you to rediscover the joy of believing.  Come and listen on Mondays and Thursdays from April 24th to June 11th, 2023.  All are welcome, youth as well as adults.  Free babysitting will be provided on site as needed.  For information please call Michael Zarbl at (604) 319-9765.

OVERNIGHT EUCHARISTIC ADORATION

Come and participate in our 12-hour Eucharistic Adoration on May 19-20, from 9:00 pm, ending at 9:00 am, before morning mass.  Following the Divine Mercy service, we will sing a few worship hymns and will start the actual Adoration at 9:00 pm.

We encourage everyone to participate in whatever way you can, whether that’s a holy hour, or a holy 15 minutes, come and spend some time with Jesus.

If you have any questions, please contact Dorothy Demare at

604-603-8418.

HOLY LAND RELIGIOUS ARTICLES

On the weekend of May 20/21, 2023, religious olive wood carvings from the Holy Land will be displayed at our Parish. These articles are hand crafted by the Christians of the Holy land who are seeking your support today to assist them in staying rooted in the land of Christ. 70 years ago, the Christian population was 20 % of the whole population, now they are only 1.0%.

It is also a way of preserving a local cultural heritage which is in danger of being lost as a more Christians feel pressured to leave their homeland for economic and political reasons. These religious articles can be used as gifts for first communions, Christmas and other occasions.  In addition, some of these articles can be used as a means of praying and providing comfort, strength, and even hope for people who are suffering.

Please note that that ONLY CASH, E-TRANSFER, OR CHEQUES ARE accepted as payment at this time.

Thanks again for your support, and God Bless.  Holy Land Group

PARISH RELIGIOUS EDUCATION PROGRAM (PREP)

PREP Registration for 2023-2024 will start on Monday April 24 and the “Early Bird” rate ends on June 2nd. Please let your family and friends know that PREP at Holy Cross starts at Level 1 (Level 1 students are those students in Grade 1 in September 2023).

EMAIL FRAUD WARNING

The Archdiocese has received multiple reports from parishioners and priests who have fallen victim to a recent Internet phishing scam. Imposters, posing as priests and using email addresses that are similar to those of our priests, have been emailing people asking for personal donations, gift cards, and other forms of financial assistance.

Never respond to emails requesting Google Play cards, iTunes cards, or any other form of personal financial assistance, even if it appears to be from a priest, deacon, religious, parish staff or bishop. If you have any doubt, please contact the sender by other means to verify any requests.
