PROJECT ADVANCE 2023

Dear Parishioners,

It is at this time of the year that, in the Archdiocese of Vancouver, we launch our annual Project Advance Campaign.  This is the one time each year that we, as Catholics, come together to give thanks to God for the many gifts we have been given.  To see the impact your donations are making, or to learn more, I encourage you to visit https://support.rcav.org/project-advance-2023/

Funds raised through Project Advance are a critical supplement to the ministries of our Diocese, which are greater than what one individual parish could support and maintain.  However, together and as a family in one faith, I ask you to prayerfully consider your participation in Project Advance 2023.  As a parish community, we are not only working to assist the Diocese in this fund raiser, but also to raise funds for different needs of our own Holy Cross Community.  Anything over and above the Archdiocesan goal of 56.400 will stay within Holy Cross Parish and go towards the following:

– Replacing the furnace in the rectory – $13,000

– Parking Lot Repairs – $22,000

– Seismic upgrade of our elementary school

You can drop off your pledge form in the collection basket, parish office or go online to give at www.projectadvance.ca and. . . please. . . designate our parish as the recipient.

I am not only grateful and thankful for your continued and reliable support of Project Advance, but also of your recognition of our Parish needs.  May God continue to endow you with His many blessings!

Sincerely yours in Christ,

Fr. Chris Pastuszka, SDS

HOLY LAND RELIGIOUS ARTICLES

On the weekend of May 20/21, 2023, religious olive wood carvings from the Holy Land will be displayed at our Parish. These articles are hand crafted by the Christians of the Holy land who are seeking your support today to assist them in staying rooted in the land of Christ. 70 years ago, the Christian population was 20 % of the whole population, now they are only 1.0%.

It is also a way of preserving a local cultural heritage which is in danger of being lost as a more Christians feel pressured to leave their homeland for economic and political reasons. These religious articles can be used as gifts for first communions, Christmas and other occasions.  In addition, some of these articles can be used as a means of praying and providing comfort, strength, and even hope for people who are suffering.

Please note that that ONLY CASH, E-TRANSFER, OR CHEQUES ARE accepted as payment at this time.

Thanks again for your support, and God Bless.  Holy Land Group
