BC CATHOLIC SECOND COLLECTION FEB 3 and 4
This weekend the 2nd collection is for the BC Catholic. This collection helps with the cost of publishing and delivering the BC Catholic newspaper. This collection stays in the Parish so please give generously so that the BC Catholic can continue to deliver news with a Catholic perspective.
COFFEE SUNDAY IS CANCELLED IN FEBRUARY
As the Super Bowl party is in the Gym on February 11th and because of several other social events in February, Coffee Sunday for February is cancelled. We look forward to serving you in March.
DIVINE MERCY MASS ON FRIDAY FEBRUARY 9th CANCELLED
Divine Mercy Mass on Friday February 9th is cancelled as Alpha for Men will be held in the Church for that night only.
SUPER BOWL PARTY Sunday February 11, 2024
Tickets are still available at the Parish Office for our Super Bowl Party on Sunday February 11th from 2:30 pm to 7:30 pm in the School Gym. Your $50.00 ticket includes snacks and 1 beverage and a dinner featuring pasta and roast pork served at halftime. A full bar will be available throughout the game and doors open at 2:30 pm. There are a limited amount of tickets available.
MASS FOR THE SICK AND LUNCHEON FRIDAY FEBRUARY 16 HOSTED BY THE CWL
The Mass and Anointing for the Sick will be celebrated on Friday February 16th at 11:00 am, followed by a lunch in the downstairs Music Room. Please RSVP to the Parish Office (604-299-3814 ext 2) or email cwlholycross@gmail.com by Tuesday February 13 if you plan to attend the lunch.
CHOIR FOR DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY (APRIL 7)
Divine Mercy Sunday Mass for 2024 is on Sunday April 7at 3:00 pm and our Divine Mercy Mass Choir will start practicing on Sunday February 4th (not Sunday January 21 as originally scheduled.) If you are interested in joining the Choir for the Divine Mercy Sunday Mass, please contact Agnes Wan at joagnes@shaw.ca or 604-671-5365. The choir will also practice on Sundays at 1:00 pm on February 11, 18, 25, March 3, March 10, March 17, and March 24. A reminder that you must attend all the practices if you want to join this choir.
2024 ENVELOPES
Please note that your 2024 envelope number may have changed. Do not use your 2023 envelopes as you may not get credit for your donation if you don’t use the correct envelope number assigned to you! Please write your name and address on your envelopes for the first few weeks of 2024 so that we can make sure we are crediting the correct person for the donation.
Even if you do not have an envelope number, as long as you provide your full name (first and last name) and complete address, your donations will be tracked under your name and you will receive a tax receipt.
If you want a 2024 envelope box, please contact the Parish office and we will give you one.
CWL MEMBERSHIP
It is not too late to pay your 2024 CWL membership of $45.00. You can pay by cash or cheque payable to the Holy Cross CWL. Please put your payment in a sealed envelope in the offertory basket and make sure to include your name and address if you are paying cash.
KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS MEMBERSHIP DUES
The notice for Knights membership dues have been sent out to our members. If you wish, you can drop off your dues in a marked envelope in the collection basket. Another option is to e-transfer the dues to: kofc5423org@gmail.com and enter your membership number in the description.
LITTLE BOOKS FOR LENT FOR ADULTS AND CHILDREN
The Little books for Lent (black for adults and purple for children) contain very short meditations for each day of Lent and are available for sale in the lobby of the Church for $3.00 each.
VOCATION LIVE-IN WEEKEND FEBRUARY 10-11
