The next 2 weeks are Spring break for the School so morning Masses will be at 9:00 am from Monday March 13th to Friday March 24th.
DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME THIS WEEKEND
A reminder to put your clocks ahead 1 hour before you go to bed on Saturday night as we switch to Daylight Savings time this Sunday morning (March 12).
COFFEE SUNDAY
Please join our monthly Coffee Sunday after all morning Masses (8am, 10am, 12pm) in the school gym on Sunday, March 12. We have various baked goods donated by Cobs on Kensington and Valley Bakery as well as some treats made by our parishioners.
Did you know that a large portion of our Coffee Sunday expense is the CUPS? In order to bring the costs down and help the environment, we would like to encourage you to bring your own cup to Coffee Sunday. If you do bring your own cup, we would like to offer you one free raffle ticket as a token of appreciation. Thanks in advance!
Raffle tickets will be sold once again after the 8am and 10am Mass to support Coffee Sunday. The prize is a gourmet Italian gift basket ($100) generously donated by the Knights of Columbus. The draw will be after 12pm Mass. We are also celebrating Fr.Chris’s upcoming birthday with a special cake!
NEOCATECHUMENAL WAY – REDEMPTORIS MATER SEMINARY
If you would like to help the Neocatechumenal way seminarians at the Redemptoris Mater Missionary Seminary of the Archdiocese of Vancouver, (which currently has seven Seminarians), please consider attending their Fundraising Spring Gala on April 21st. More information is on our website under Parish Groups Neotcatechumenal Way and on the bulletin board in the Church lobby.
LENTEN PENITENTIAL SERVICE AT HOLY CROSS
Please join us on Tuesday March 21st at 7:00 pm in the Church for our Lent Penitential Service. There will be several priests available to hear your confessions.
ALTAR SERVERS’ MEETINGS – HOLY WEEK
Altar servers who would like to serve during Holy Week are required to sign-up for the day(s) he/she is planning to serve. Altar servers can sign-up for one, two, or all three days. After an altar server has signed-up, he/she is committed to attend the meeting(s) on the day(s) he/she has signed-up for (Holy Thu/Good Fri/Holy Sat). Each celebration is served in a different way from the other two. Please note that if an altar server is sensitive to incense, it will be used on Holy Thursday & Holy Saturday. Meetings are held on the following days:
Holy Thu – 6:00 pm
Good Fri – 11:30 am
Holy Sat – 11:30 am
CWL RELIGIOUS ARTICLES SALE NEXT WEEKEND
If you are looking for something to help you or your family live your faith, the CWL is selling religious articles at the back of the Church next weekend after the 5:00 pm Mass on Saturday March 18 and after the 8:00am, 10:00am & 12:00pm Masses on Sunday March 19. At this time, we can accept only cheque or cash for payment.
PASTA MAKING WORKSHOP SUNDAY MARCH 26
Do you want to learn how to make pasta? Join cook Adam Cristiano in the Gym on Sunday March 26th at 6:00 pm for a workshop on making your own pasta. Space is limited. Contact Mike Malsegna at 604-329-0207 for more information or to register.
TAX RECEIPTS
Your 2022 tax receipts are ready to pick up in the lobby of the Church. You will receive receipts for your regular envelope donations as well as your preauthorized and Project Advance donations. After this weekend, the receipts that have not been picked up will be mailed.
STATIONS OF THE CROSS
The Stations of the Cross will be at 7:00 pm every Friday during Lent. There will be no confessions on Friday evenings.
EASTER PURDY’S CHOCOLATES FUNDRAISER
This is the last weekend to support our CWL Purdy’s Easter fundraiser by getting your Easter chocolates from Purdy’s. You can’t go wrong with Purdy’s chocolates!
You can order directly online (please use customer number 63039) and pay by credit card by clicking on the link below to support the HOLY CROSS CWL EASTER 2023 Fundraising campaign. The deadline for your order is this Sunday March 12thand your chocolate order will be ready for pick up after all Sunday Masses on March 26 in the Church lobby.
If you can’t order online, you can complete a paper order form. The forms are available on the CWL bulletin board in the lobby of the Church. Paper orders can be dropped off at the Parish office or put into an envelope (marked Purdy’s) and placed in the collection basket.”

YOUTH GROUP (help with the Easter egg hunt)
If you would like to help our Parish Youth Group by buying Easter eggs for their Easter Egg hunt, you can buy a bag of Purdy’s chocolate mini eggs (the FOILED MINI EGGS-MILK CHOCOLATE (Item #24911) as part of your Purdy’s order and it will be donated to the Youth Group to use in the Easter Egg hunt.
If you want to do this to help the youth group and you are ordering online, you can send an email to Marisa Demare (marisademare@gmail.com) to let her know that a bag of eggs in your order is for the Youth Ministry (and Marisa can give it directly to the youth group from your order) . If you are ordering by hardcopy, you can write it on the paper order form (and Marisa can give it directly to the youth group).
