SYNOD
Archbishop Michael Miller has joined his voice to that of Pope Francis’, inviting “the universal Church” including the local archdiocese of Vancouver, “into the path of Synodality, ‘the path that God expects from the Church of the third millennium.’ Archbishop Miller and Pope Francis are calling “the People of God to …participate in this opportunity” to actively seek the Lord Jesus together, in the heart of the Church, as He breathes on us the Holy Spirit and calls us to renewal. As pastor, I extend this “wonderful…invitation” of the faithful to share their voices in this “process of consultation that has already started with the inauguration of the Synod of Bishops on Synodality.” If you wish to volunteer to participate in an online Holy Cross discussion group called “Conversation Circles”, there will be a sign-up sheet at the back of the church. Please provide your email address, which will only be used to link you to the Conversation Circles. Given the limited number of facilitators that we have, the sign-up sheet will be filled if and when 40 people sign up. If you wish to share your voice and want parish updates sent to your email, but cannot commit to a 65 minute session, please indicate this on the sign-up sheet, checking off the box that says, “Updates only”. If you want to participate individually, and do not want any updates, follow this link to anonymously to share your thoughts: https://secure.rcav.org/synod-submissions-individuals/, or you can fill out the response sheet which will be provided in the back of the church; and place this in the Synod feedback box.  The official Synod prayer is given at https://rcav.org/synod.

The questions which the Catholic Church is pondering are found on the prayer cards at the back of our church or online for those wishing to provide feedback individually https://secure.rcav.org/synod-submissions-individuals/. We encourage prayerful reflection before formulating your succinct responses.

More detailed information will be provided in the upcoming bulletin and by personal email to those who volunteer to participate in the Synodal Conversation Circles.
