EUCHARISTIC PROCESSION FOR CORPUS CHRISTI SUNDAY (JUNE 19)
Holy Cross is be participating in a Diocesan Eucharistic Procession on Sunday, June 19, the feast day of Corpus Christi. Archbishop Michael Miller has encouraged all 77 parishes in the Vancouver Archdiocese to participate in this sacred event to promote devotion to the Blessed Sacrament, foster thanksgiving for the end of the pandemic, strengthen the hope of all the Faithful and create the fruit of reconciliation during the Papal visitation to Canada in July.

Archbishop Miller specifically encouraged the CWL, the Knights of Columbus, and the children of this year’s First Communion classes to lead the procession, followed by the rest of the congregation, including altar servers and a cantor who will lead us in songs of praise and thanksgiving. Holy Cross is blessed to be one of many parishes involved in this great Eucharistic event.

We will start this special day of prayer at 3:00 p.m. in the church by reciting the Divine Mercy Chaplet. We will then process around the perimeter of the church and school grounds. We will finish in the church with Benediction. The entire event should take approximately one hour. Finally, all the participants are invited to share fellowship and refreshments in the gym provided by the Holy Cross C.W.L.

Please come and join us as we worship the Eucharistic Jesus. Celebrate with fellow parishioners and Catholics throughout the Archdiocese, singing and praying together, just as millions of others around the world have done before us throughout the years.

A plenary indulgence is available for the faithful who participate in a Eucharistic Procession on the Feast of Corpus Christi.

July Parish Retreat: Nine Days to Strengthen Your Faith
Would you like to strengthen your faith?  Join us for a simple 9 day retreat from July 4-8 and July 11-14.  Faith places us in real contact with God. Faith is our strength as Christians, because it teaches us to rely on Him in all things. Often lived most fervently when experiencing spiritual desolation, faith bears the fruit of peace, hope, and love. Using Fr. Jacques Philippe’s book, we will take nine days together with the parish community to meditate on your faith. Learn how to deepen and strengthen it, so that through both times of ease and times of burden, your faith can keep you focused on God, as he faithfully keeps his focus on you.

We will start with morning Mass, followed by a small group discussion in the music room in the basement (coffee/tea/snacks will be provided). Please register with Dorothy Demare at dorothydemare@gmail.com by June 12, 2022 to ensure that you get your copy of the book (about $17).
