SHARE CHRISTMAS

This coming Sunday, we are liturgically ending the Christmas season with the Solemnity of the Baptism of the Lord.  During this period, we not only celebrated the joyful birth of Jesus and events following this, but also tried to show and share the love He brought into the world with others.  An example of this was our Share Christmas donation of $10,415.17 to The Missionaries of Charity. These funds will support their mission of serving the needy in the East Downtown area.  This was acknowledged by the Sisters with a beautiful card and letter thanking our parishioners for their generosity and ongoing support.

LISTENING TO INDIGENOUS VOICES

A dialogue guide on Justice and Right Relationships by Jesuit Forum for Social Faith and Justice. “…what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?” (Micah 6:8). You are invited to join us in the journey towards awareness of the voices from the indigenous people starting Monday, January 31, 2022 at 7pm for 12 Mondays (ending on Easter Monday, April 18, 2022).  These sessions will be held on Zoom following the recommendation for online meetings by the Archdiocese.  Changing to in-person meeting will be considered in the future when the recommendation is lifted. The cost to participate is $21 for the book; you also have an option to order online on your own. This journey towards awareness will culminate on April 24, 2022 – the Sunday of Divine Mercy, our hope of all brokenness. Contact Lanny Hui @ 778-999-7097 or email lanny.hui@gmail.com for further inquiries and registration.

2022 ENVELOPES

Many of you have noticed that your 2022 envelope number has changed.  If you had a 2021 envelope number of 672 and higher, your 2022 envelope number is a lower number.  This is because more parishioners are donating online and do not want paper envelopes.  By moving many envelope numbers up, this means that we need to order fewer envelope boxes and save the costs and the paper.  Of course, if you wish to have a 2022 envelope box, please contact the Parish office and we will gladly give you one.

Given all the changes in envelope numbers, please do not use your 2021 envelopes.  Please write your name and address on your envelopes for the first few weeks of 2022 so that we can make sure we have the correct information.  Even if you do not have an envelope number, your donations will be tracked under your name and you will receive a tax receipt.
