Easter Greetings
Happy Easter! May the joy and wonder of the Lord’s resurrection fill your hearts and homes today and throughout the Easter Season!
Today, the world joins in the commemoration of “new life”. Perhaps, for many of us, we associate that wording with Spring – new life, bringing forth hope. As with all of creation, this is what God has in store for us – a pale shadow of the new life the Father wishes to give us through the raising of Jesus Christ, His Son. A new and abundantly more satisfying life is offered to each of us, bringing us hope. All we need to do is acknowledge Jesus as the Risen Lord and place Him at the centre of our life.
May the Risen Lord bless you all and keep you in his care!
Holy Week Schedule for 2026
Holy Thursday Mass of the Lord’s Supper April 2 at 7:30 pm
Good Friday April 3 Stations of the Cross 10:00 am
Good Friday April 3 Celebration of the Passion of the Lord at 3:00 pm
Holy Saturday April 4 – Blessing of the Festive Foods at 11:00 am
Holy Saturday April 4- Easter Vigil Mass 8:00 pm
Easter Sunday April 5- Masses 8:00 am, 10:00 am, 1200 pm
(there is no 5:00 pm Mass on Easter Sunday)
Holy Thursday Overnight Adoration
Please join Overnight Adoration immediately after Holy Thursday Mass on April 2; around 9pm. It will end at 10am on Good Friday, followed by the Stations of the Cross. There will be at least one reliable person present at the church. Please come and spend some quiet time with Jesus during The Triduum.
Altar Servers Meeting – Holy Week
If you signed up for altar serving during Holy Week, please attend the meeting(s) on the day(s) you have signed up for. Each celebration is served differently from the other two. Meetings are scheduled on the following days:
– APR 2, Holy THU, 6:00 pm
– APR 3, Good FRI, 11:00 am
– APR 4, Holy SAT, 11:30 am
Please note that if an altar server is sensitive to incense smoke, incense will be used on Holy Thursday & Holy Saturday. For more information, please text Chloe Yam (604-721-1217).
Incense smoke during Holy Week
This is a reminder to parishioners who are sensitive to incense smoke. Incense will be used on Holy Thursday (Apr 2) and Holy Saturday (Apr 4). Please sit by the window or towards the back of the church.
Collection for the Church in the Holy Land on Good Friday April 3
The Good Friday Collection helps to maintain the Church of the Holy Land by providing educational, pastoral, and social support of Catholic youth and families committed to living their faith in the land where Christ lived, and by maintaining the Holy Sites that are so important to the faith of Christians everywhere.
Those who are unable to attend the service, or who prefer to contribute online, may give online at rcav.org/holy-land
Children’s Easter Egg Hunt
Hop on Over! The Easter egg hunt will take place after 10am Mass on Sunday April 5th. We invite all young children to the parish lawn for the egg hunt and some activities (careful of your shoes or Easter best clothing as the lawn could be muddy!). In case of rain, please come to the school gym. Remember to collect 5 eggs of the same color and exchange for an Easter treat (only 1 treat package per child please).
Parish Office Hours and Mass Monday April 6
The Parish Office will be closed Friday April 3 (Good Friday) and Monday April 6 (Easter Monday). Morning Mass on Monday April 6th is at 9:00 am.
April Coffee Sunday is Cancelled
Coffee Sunday on April 12 will be cancelled as we are celebrating Divine Mercy Sunday Mass at 2pm followed by refreshments hosted by the CWL. Please join us again on Sunday, May 10th.
Alpha Celebration Potluck – April 10 at 6:30 pm
Join us as we celebrate the close of our Alpha season with a church-wide potluck!
Everyone is invited to bring a dish to share as we come together to honour the stories, friendships, and spiritual growth that have blossomed this season. Come celebrate all God has done through Alpha this Easter season.

Divine Mercy Sunday Celebrations
Good Friday April 3 after the 3:00 pm Liturgy – Divine Mercy Novena in the Church
Holy Saturday April 4 to Saturday, April 11 at 3.00 pm – Divine Mercy Novena in the Adoration Chapel
Sunday, April 12 at 2:00 pm – Mass of Divine Mercy with the Chaplet of Divine Mercy and Benediction to follow. Our CWL will host refreshments in the downstairs Music Room after the 2:00 pm Mass.
(Please note that Divine Mercy Mass on Divine Mercy Sunday is at 2:00 pm, not 3:00 pm.)
33 Days to Morning Glory Small group Retreat
If you’re looking for a simple way to be spiritually renewed, join us for the 33 Days to Morning Glory small-group Retreat.
We will begin on Sunday April 12 after 5pm mass in the Church basement. For five weeks (April 12 to May 10), we’ll read about and reflect on four great Marian giants: St. Louis de Montfort, St. Maximilian Kolbe, St. Teresa of Calcutta, and St. John Paul II. They’ll teach us the secrets to drawing closer to the Heart of Jesus through the Heart of Mary. Each Sunday from 6-7:30 pm, we’ll share our insights within our small group and then watch a 30-minute video from popular author and speaker, Fr. Michael Gaitley, MIC. Fr. Gaitley brings our individual reflections and group experience into a clear and liveable focus.

Heavenly Wine Auction item (Golf Tournament)
We will have our Heavenly Wine auction item again this year and your support of this item is also much appreciated.
Wine Selection Days are Sat and Sun April 11 & 12 before and after the Masses. Wine Drop-off Days are Sat and Sun April 18 & 19 before and after the Masses.
2026 Holy Cross Annual Golf Tournament
The 2026 Holy Cross Golf Tournament is on Friday May 8, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Riverway Golf Course in Burnaby. Due to the overwhelming response from last year’s sponsors and participants, there will be no further spots available for golfers.
