COFFEE SUNDAY
This Sunday, September 8th will be our monthly Coffee Sunday after all morning Masses (8am, 10am, 12pm). Please come and stay awhile. Get to know your fellow parishioners while enjoying free coffee and treats donated by Valley Bakery, Cobs, and our very own talented parishioners. We look forward to seeing you!

Please have a look at the religious articles from the Holy Land for sale after all Masses. These articles are hand crafted by the Christians of the Holy land who are selling these items to assist them in staying in the land of Christ.
THE SALMON BBQ VOLUNTEER MEETING SEPT 9th
Well, wouldn’t you just know that with only 3 more sleeps to go,
We’re happy to offer you a seat, as we gather and meet,
To discuss & review all things needed for the Salmon BBQ.
Come one & all and join us on Monday, Sept. 9th at 6:30 in the parish basement for the final Salmon BBQ Volunteer meeting.

The next General Meeting is on Thursday September 12th at 7pm in the music room.
THE SALMON BARBECUE is SUNDAY SEPT 15
Let’s get ready to rendezvous as next Sunday, September 15th is our annual Salmon BBQ!
Please note that the event runs from 3pm to 7pm.
All are welcome to this wonderful Holy Cross Parish community event which takes place, rain, or shine. As such, please dress appropriately. Please note that pre-sales are not available and that tickets are available at the door, at the start of the event.
- Face painting is available from 3:30 – 5:00pm
- The Bouncy Slide is available from 3:30 – 6:30pm; and
- Live entertainment is provided from 4:30 – 6:00pm
Dinner will be served at the following times and associated costs are illustrated below:
- Children’s meals will be served at 4:30pm;
- Adults meals will be served at 5:00pm
Below, we include the menu and corresponding prices:
Salmon Dinner (salmon, baked potato, dinner roll, green salad, donut, ) $20
Italian Sausage and Bun Dinner (Italian sausage, Portuguese bun, baked potato, green salad, donut, coffee/tea) $15
Children’s Meal (hot dog, drink box, chips & donut) $5
1 Sausage with Portuguese Bun $7
1 Children’s Hot Dog $3
Glass of Beer/Wine $5
Bottled Water/Can of Pop $2
Bottle of wine $25
(Increases in prices are simply due to increased costs from suppliers)

SECOND COLLECTION – HEALING AND RECONCILIATION
This weekend’s second collection will help support our Indigenous brothers and sisters. Your donation will fund projects that are determined locally in collaboration with First Nations, focusing on:
- Healing and reconciliation for communities and families
- Culture and language revitalization
- Education and community building
- Dialogue for promoting indigenous culture

2024 Holy Cross Parish -Eiffel Investments Annual Golf Tournament
On May 10, 2024, Holy Cross Parish held another extremely successful Golf Tournament. An impressive amount of over $45,000 was raised for Holy Cross Parish and School.
A very sincere thank you to our Golf Committee, sponsors, participants and volunteers. Looking forward to seeing you all again at Riverway Golf Course on May 9, 2025.
BIBLE STUDY 2024
Our next Great Adventure Bible Study is Ephesians: Discover your Inheritance, an 8-session Catholic Bible Study starting Wednesday, October 2 at 7:30 pm. It will be conducted in the Music Room. PREP (Parish religious education program)
PREP is for children in Grades 1 to 7 in non CISVA Schools. There are still a few spots remaining for the 2024/2025 school year and parents can stop by the Parish Office to register from 9 am to 12 Noon until August 30 or 8:30 am to 4:00 pm (closed 12-1 pm), starting on Sept. 3rd. RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults)
If you want to become a Catholic or are a Catholic who have not yet received the Sacrament of Confirmation or just want to reconnect with your faith, please call or email our parish office to register for the RCIA Program. If you know someone who might be interested, please reach out to them and invite them to join the course. We are beginning on Saturday, September 14th. We will give you more details after registration.
