PRO LIFE MASS AT HOLY CROSS SATURDAY OCT 4 9:00 AM
The Pro-Life Mass is hosted by the Pro-Life Ministry of the Archdiocese of Vancouver on the first Saturday of the month and this Mass is at Holy Cross this Saturday, October 4th at 9:00 am. You are welcome to join your voice with others as we pray on the first Saturday of each month for respect for all human life, from conception to its natural end. We will begin with Mass, followed by the rosary and Adoration. The CWL is hosting refreshments downstairs after the Mass.
HOLY CROSS SCHOOL WALKATHON
At the October 4th and 5th Masses, Holy Cross students will be announcing the annual ‘Walk-In-the-Lawns’ Walkathon fundraiser to be held on Friday, October 10th. After each Mass, students will be at the back of church accepting donations to assist them in reaching their goal. We thank you in advance for your support of this event!
HOMELESS PROGRAM (OCT 4-5)
Our Homeless Program begins this weekend, and this is the only weekend (OCT 4-5) that donations are accepted. Clear plastic bags are provided to help us sort through the donations and these bags can be picked up at the back of the church. Please put the men’s and women’s donations in separate bags. Only the following articles are needed: toques, scarves, gloves/mittens, clothing, winter coats, boots, socks, and blankets. Please ensure your donations are in good condition, clean and reusable. You are welcome to donate new items. Please tag your donation bag “Men” or “Women” and place it near the homeless box at the inside main entrance of the church. Since the homeless do not have a place to stay or live in shelters, they cannot accept either furniture or cooking utensils. Also, the shelters and the centers cannot accept children’s clothing because they serve only adults, most of which are males. For more information, please phone/text Dillon Fong (604-561-6918). Thank you for your support in reaching out to those in need.
Cwl religious articles on sale this weekend
The CWL’s has religious articles for sale in the lobby after the 5:00 pm Mass on Saturday October 4 and after the 8:00am, 10:00am & 12:00pm Masses on Sunday October 5. We accept personal cheque or cash for payment.

SHARE CHRISTMAS 2025 – BOXES NEEDED
Share Christmas will commence on the 1st Sunday of Advent (Nov 29-30). We will be requesting food products like we did last year. In the meantime, we are asking parishioners to collect boxes that will help us transport your food to the Sisters in the Downtown Eastside. If you happen to shop at AAA, Red Apple, Save-On, Safeway, or Superstore, please ask the staff if they can donate one empty box (apple box preferred). If you are shopping at Costco, please ask the staff if you can take One empty tray (cucumbers, plum, kiwi, or tomato trays preferred). If you collect one box, as a parish community working together, we will be able to collect enough boxes. Please place your empty box on the table (Share Christmas Boxes) at the back of the church. Your effort is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

WORLD YOUTH DAY 2027 in SEOUL KOREA
Have you heard of World Youth Day (WYD)? Saint Pope John Paul II began this call to all youth ages 18-35 to gather globally and Seoul, Korea is the next host from August 3-8, 2027. We are reaching out to see if we have interest from individuals and families at our parish to attend this event. Even if you are undecided or may simply want to know more about it first, we encourage you to get in touch. Our volunteers plan to hold periodic meetings over the next two years to share information and prepare for the experience. Email us at wyd2027hc@gmail.com to get in touch.
PROJECT ADVANCE 2025 APPEAL
This annual Appeal provides critical funding to key ministries and projects, not only in the Archdiocese of Vancouver, but in our very own parish as well. The money raised over and above the archdiocesan goal of $59,100 will go towards supporting our parish youth programs, Alpha 2026 as well as parish buildings repairs and maintenance.
You can contribute to Project Advance online at projectadvance.ca or by phone at 604-299-3814, or in-person at our parish office. Building and forming our parish community is only possible with your donation, and we are grateful for your ongoing support.
