Renovation and Seismic Project UPDATE
When will the seismic upgrade and renovation work begin?
While the exact start and end dates for the renovations are still being finalized, we anticipate all work to occur over the summer of 2025, pending building permits from the City of Burnaby. We aim to share a definitive schedule by Feb 1, 2025 (or sooner). We sincerely appreciate your patience as we work through these details.
PANCAKE BREAKFAST is THIS SUNDAY
Knights of Columbus Pancake Breakfast is this Sunday October 27th after the 8am, 10am, and 12pm Masses. Entry is by donation and everyone is welcome. Money raised will go towards the Knights of Columbus Coats for Kids program.
LITTLE BOOKS FOR CHRISTMAS AND ADVENT
The Little Books for Advent and Christmas are available for sale in the back of the church for $3.00 each. Please place the money in the brown box.
MOVIE NIGHT FRIDAY NOVEMBER 8TH
The Holy Cross CWL and the Christian Addictions Recovery Ministries Society (CHARM) invite you to a free “Movie Night’ on Friday November 8th at 7:00 pm in the Holy Cross School Gym. The movie will be “The Downside of High”. This is a 42 minute video narrated by David Suzuki and shown on the CBC program the Nature of Things. It is the story of three BC teens and their doctors who agree that the mental health challenges they now face in their 20s are the result of starting to smoke marijuana in their teens. There will be a guest speaker and a Q&A period after the movie.
There is no charge for this movie night and snacks and refreshments will be served. We hope to see you there!

PURDY’S CHOCOLATES FOR CHRISTMAS (FUNDRAISER)
We know that Christmas is still 2 months from today and you probably don’t want to think about buying chocolates yet (other than Halloween candy)! But if you do want to get started on your shopping, you can support our Holy Cross Catholic Women’s League’s (CWL) Christmas fundraiser by buying Purdy’s chocolates for your Christmas stockings, or as Christmas gifts. The CWL supports our parish with their fundraising proceeds so any support is greatly appreciated.

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS ANNUAL CHARITY APPEAL

Share Christmas Boxes – Last Weekend
This is our last weekend for collecting boxes for our parish program. If you happen to shop at AAA, Red Apple, Save-On, Safeway, or Superstore, please ask the staff if they can donate one empty box (apple box preferred). If you are shopping at Costco, please ask the staff if you can take one empty tray (cucumbers, plum, kiwi, or tomato trays preferred). Please place your empty box at the back of the church. This is our last weekend for collecting boxes. Your effort is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
