NO DIVINE MERCY MASS TONIGHT FRIDAY, MAY 10, 2024
There is no Divine Mercy Mass tonight due to our Holy Cross Annual Golf Tournament.
COFFEE SUNDAY
This Sunday, May 12, join us for Coffee Sunday after all morning Masses right outside the door of the Church. We will have coffee and a variety of treats donated by our parishioners and from Valley Bakery and Cobs Bread in Kensington.
PENTECOST SUNDAY MAY 19
Come join us on The Feast of Pentecost Sunday, May 19th at 2:30pm.
We will start preparing today, Friday May 10th, by praying a Novena to the Holy Spirit on Zoom at 7:30 pm every evening until Pentecost Sunday. On Pentecost Sunday, we will meet in the School Gym at 2:30 pm where Fr. Tomasz will lead us in a short prayer, introduction, and blessing. We will then be led in some prayer and worship music. Next on the agenda will be a talk given by Dave Demare, ‘Do I Know the Holy Spirit?’ Following the talk, we will continue in quiet prayer and worship while different prayer teams will pray over anyone who desires. Then we will have coffee, tea and snacks.
Find the Zoom link below to pray the Holy Spirit Novena together.
Contact Dorothy Demare @ 604-603-8418 for further information.

PROJECT ADVANCE 2024 APPEAL:
This annual Appeal provides critical funding to key ministries and projects, not only in the Archdiocese of Vancouver, but in our very own parish as well. Our Archdiocesan goal for the current year is $58,200; however, we are hoping to raise $100,000 to help further our evangelizing mission and upgrade spaces for devotion and learning here at Holy Cross.
For example: This year, we piloted the program “Alpha for Men”, which proved to be highly successful and very well received. Consequently, we are planning to run another “Alpha” in the beginning of 2025, this time opening it to all adults; thus furthering and enhancing evangelization in our parish community.
For more information, please stop at the back of the church and see one of our Appeal committee members. Other ways of contributing to Project Advance are online at projectadvance.ca or by phone at 604-299-3814, or in-person at our parish office. Building and forming our parish community is only possible with your donation. We are most grateful for your ongoing support.
EUCHARISTIC PROCESSION SUNDAY JUNE 2ND
Come join us on Corpus Christi Sunday, June 2nd for Holy Cross’ annual Eucharistic Procession. This Eucharistic Procession is our parish’s continuing response to Archbishop Michael Miller’s desire for Eucharistic renewal.
Starting with the Divine Mercy Chaplet at 2:30 p.m. in the church, we will then proceed to walk the perimeter of the school grounds and one block into the adjacent neighbourhood. We will then return to the church and finish with Benediction. The entire event should take approximately one hour.
To celebrate this special feast day of Corpus Christi, the CWL has invited us to join them for refreshments in the gym after the Procession.
A plenary indulgence is available for the faithful who participate in a Eucharistic Procession on the Feast of Corpus Christi.
June 22 – Sons of The Father: Christianity and Authentic Manhood
On Saturday, June 22, all men are invited to an evening of fellowship, food and formation with special guests Brett Powell (Archbishop’s Delegate for Development and Ministries), Ed Zadeiks (Alpha Canada) and orthopaedic surgeon (and father of four) Dr. Tim Kostamo.
What does it mean to be a son of God the Father? How are men called to be spiritual leaders? How can men live up to this call? These important questions for all men will be explored at this event, which will take place in the gym at Holy Cross.
5:30pm – Food and fellowship
6:30pm – Talk (Brett Powell)
7:00pm – Panel discussion (Brett Powell, Ed Zadeiks, Dr. Tim Kostamo)
8:00pm – Dessert and drinks
Register for this event here. Bring a friend! All men are welcome.
