PARISH OFFICE
The office will be closed Monday September 5 for Labour Day. On Tuesday September 6th, we will be back to regular office hours – 8:30 am to 4:00 p.m. Mondays to Fridays (closed between 12:00 noon and 1:00 p.m.).
DAILY MASSES
Beginning Tuesday September 6th, our morning Masses on Monday to Friday will be at 8.15 am.
SALMON BARBECUE VOLUNTEER MEETING – TUESDAY SEPT 13
Our annual Salmon Barbecue is on Sunday September 18th from 3 to 7 pm. Anyone interested in and willing to volunteer at this Parish event should attend a volunteer meeting on Tuesday September 13 at 6:00 pm in the Boardroom in the Church Basement.
RCIA
If you want to become a Catholic or are a Catholic who have not yet received the Sacrament of Confirmation or just want to reconnect with your faith, please call or email our parish office to register for the RCIA Program. If you know someone who might be interested, please reach out to them and invite them to join the course. We are beginning on Saturday, September 10th. We will give you more details after registration.
PREP
Holy Cross Parish Religious Education Program (PREP) classes start on Tuesday September 20, 2022 at 7:00 pm. Registration starts on Tuesday September 6th and closes on Tuesday September 27th. There are still spots available in the PREP program but they are filling up fast. If you want to register your child for PREP for this year, please go to the website www.hcprep.ca.
SPIRITUAL MATERNITY
Spiritual maternity is a hidden vocation within a vocation for women in every state of life – single, married, lay or consecrated religious – who recognize a call to offer prayer and sacrifices to strengthen and protect priests so they may grow in holiness.
If you decide to adopt a priest in the Vancouver archdiocese, please email rcvan002@gmail.com to get the latest list of priests available to be adopted, then send the priest name (plus 2 other names of priests).
We will confirm if your chosen priest is not yet adopted or if you need to adopt your 2nd or 3rd choice. Your priest’s name must remain a secret to everyone, including the priest and you will need to pray for him for the rest of your life even after he dies.
BIBLE STUDY
Our next Great Adventure Bible Study Series will be on the 4 Epistles of St. Paul: Galatians, Ephesians, 1 Corinthians and Romans. We will start the series with Galatians this fall. St. Paul’s Letter to the Galatians answers the question “What must we do to be saved?” Sessions are every Wednesdays starting Oct 5 to Nov 23 at 7:30 pm. Attend virtually by Zoom or in person in the Music Room. Past participants may join again. CHILDREN’S LITURGY OF THE WORD
The Children’s Liturgy program is looking for additional volunteers to teach during 10 am Mass. No experience needed as training will be provided. Please contact Lucy Sousa at 604-205-9393 if interested. It’s really rewarding and a great way to connect with the children. Looking forward to hearing from you!
